A little taste of summer.
The kids were too wet from their water gun fight, so I made them eat their dinner outside tonight.  They were happy to oblige.

Happy Easter!
This was her first time wearing curlers overnight.  I had to tell her they were extra pillows on her head.

Syd always finds the most eggs.

This blur is Erik.
Bailey may have eaten too much candy before church.  She crashed in sacrament meeting.  I'm considering giving her a bunch of candy every Sunday morning.

We had a refreshing rain on and off all day.  Just southeast of us there was baseball-sized hail.

PLEASE, JUST FINISH YOUR DINNER!

April 18, 2014

Egg dying day.  I made each kid commit to how many eggs they were going to dye before I boiled them.  I wasn't going to be stuck finishing a dozen eggs like last year.

A good day for Shelbi.  Her school band participated in a regional competition and got nearly perfect scores.  I got to go watch.  Definitely the coolest part was watching the band sight read a piece they had never seen before.

Cha Cha figured out how to coordinate steering and pedaling today.

April 15, 2014

You probably can't tell from this picture, but Syd got braces today.  Shelbi was showing her how to floss, but wouldn't cooperate for my picture-taking.

April 14, 2014

Easter 2009.  I couldn't pick one favorite picture.  That was a good year.

April 13, 2014

Quite rarely I'll make a dessert on Sunday night.  Tonight definitely called for some fudge brownie cake with vanilla ice cream.
Some day she's going to hate this picture.

April 12, 2014

The remains of my blender jar.  Someone (me) must have booby-trapped it in the cupboard, making it fall as soon as someone (me) opened it.  It was lunch time, so four kids were standing right next to me in the kitchen when it broke.  Luckily I was the only one to get cut by it.

April 11, 2014

This is a quiet, empty house.  The four youngest kids are at Parents' Night Out, a school fundraiser.  Shelbi's at a friend's house.  Jeff's at jury duty, deliberating on a murder case (a story for another time.)  I honestly can't remember the last time I was home alone for any amount of time, let alone three hours.  I ordered pizza, folded the laundry, and watched t.v.  Best school fundraiser ever.

2008
This picture of Sydney pretty much sums up how Easter went that year.

Easter egg hunt in the front yard of our Michigan house, in coats, of course.

The first of many SpongeBob SquarePants eggs.

Another Easter dress picture on our front porch.  Do all of your Easter pictures seem to be taken in the same place every year?

April 7, 2014

In 2005, we were in Utah for Easter.  I don't remember how it happened, but the Easter bunny didn't come Easter morning like he usually does.  Luckily the kids didn't notice.  Grandma Larson suggested putting carrots out for the Easter bunny in the afternoon in hopes that he would come while they were playing outside.  It worked!

Shelbi and her cousin ready for the bunny.
Sydney and her bestie cousin, post egg-hunt.

April 6, 2014

Around here these days, rain is an event that warrants taking a picture.

April 5, 2014

Syd's watching General Conference like a pro.

April 4, 2014

  Helping Mom make pies.
And yes, she is wearing a Christmas shirt.  We pick our battles around here.

Easter 2004. Look, she kind of has hair!

New Jersey, 2003
First Easter dress I ever made for Shelbi.  And boy is my hair ugly.

April 1, 2014

(I've kind of forgotten to take pictures most days lately.  We'll take a little stroll down Easter memory lane)
When Shelbi was about 6 months old, my mom, Shelbi, and I took a little trip down to Phoenix to visit my sister Jill's family.  It was lovely and warm.  We attended an Easter party with Jill's family hosted by her husband's business school.  Shelbi seems much more interested in Pepper than the Easter bunny.
