I don't promise I'll post everyday. I don't promise the pictures will be fantastic. I don't promise this will always be super interesting. But I'll try.

A very nice thing Mary did, bringing Grandma Foster to Utah to see Shelbi before we moved to New Jersey. I love that she's holding Shelbi's hand.

I love looking at photos where the unimportant stuff tells a better story than the reason for the picture. I took this picture in New Jersey, obviously because I thought it was funny how Shelbi was doing Sydney's hair. But if I look closer, I recognize the wrinkled khaki skirt that Shelbi adored, and wore about every day, and Sydney's beloved polka dot pants that she wore until they were capris on her. I remember the crappy blinds in our apartment that always had broken off pieces. That nightlight plugged in above Syd's elbow was a free handout at some medical conference Jeff attended. We loved free stuff back then. How was this eight years ago? I feel like it could have been taken last year.

And sometimes I actually do take a picture of something with a story behind it, but then two weeks later can't remember the details. Sorry again.

Sometimes it gets to be the end of the day and I realize that I haven't taken a picture that day yet. I look around and see that the moon looks particularly cool tonight, but don't realize that it's not all that impressive in the photograph. Sorry.

June-ish, 2002
Remember that picture I posted of Jeff's graduation day, where I was pregnant but didn't look it? Well, just to balance things out, here's a picture where I do look pregnant, but am not.

Today was the school Fun Run. We've participated in it the last three years. I'm pretty sure Jeff took some pictures, but his phone isn't handy. Nothing really changes about the Fun Run, except the shirt color. Oh, and Erik actually didn't trip this year. So imagine this picture is from this year, and our shirts are orange.

A new Chicken Express restaurant has been recently built on a road that we often travel. Bailey has been fascinated by the construction process, updating me on it every time we drive past. Her dream came true today. Jeff took her to the completed restaurant to pick up lunch to have with Ryan at school. I thought maybe once she'd actually eaten the food, she wouldn't be so fascinated by it. Nope. She still asks to go there all the time.

Ryan and Bailey were playing doctor today. These are their patients, all lined up, waiting for their turn to see Dr. Ryan.

Never was there a boy who loved to wear his robe as much as Ry-Guy. It's the middle of the afternoon and he has school clothes on underneath it.

Shelbi and Ryan's first day of school. Shelbi was still not 100%. She came home with a fever. She seems to have a different virus than the other kids. Something in her throat (I don't remember the diagnosis Jeff gave). Somehow I missed getting a picture of Ryan. Bad mom.

When Bailey was sick last week, I just knew that was going to cause problems for the first week of school. Sydney was sick starting Friday, and Ryan caught it the next day. Fever, nausea, chills, stuffy noses. Shelbi, who was the most excited of any of the kids for school to start, woke up ill this morning. So half of the kids had their first day of school today.

Ryan and Bailey were super excited to show me the city they built. Ryan told me all they had done so far was the firehouse and temple. Really, what more do you need?

Relaxing after another successful, fun-filled day at Splash Amarillo. Apparently last year's good fortune of small crowds and cheap fun wasn't a fluke. Is this a hidden gem of Amarillo?
We actually were going to come here a couple of days ago. We were packed in the car, five minutes away from our destination, when Bailey threw up in her carseat. There were many tears when we had to turn around. Luckily we still had a free day this week to squeeze it in before school starts next week.

Playing army guys
Erik really has mastered the machine-gun sound effect. Bailey's guns sounded more like, "Pyoo, Pyoo!" Her poor troops never stood a chance.

Bailey has discovered where I keep my glue sticks. I keep finding pieces of computer paper glued together around the house. She's making books.
