My memories of the Easter egg hunt when I was growing up include the little kids gathering candy scattered all over the living room floor while the older kids lounged on the couch in their pajamas, somewhat annoyed to be awake so early on a saturday. I can hope that my kids stay excited about the Easter bunny for a long time, but I know it won't last forever.  At least we still had this year.

  1. Even my younger kids were lame egg-hunters this year. We heard Adam and Luke get up and start playing computer games before they even thought to check if the Easter Bunny had come. At 9:30, I got up and had to go ask them if The Bunny had come. They looked at me in surprise and said, "Oh, yeah..."

    Why do I bother?

  2. I'm still trying to eke out some Easter Bunny excitement from my kids. This year the bunny hid their baskets while we were at a family picnic in the middle of the afternoon. It took them about 30 seconds to find them. (In telling this to Justin, he said he would purposely stop looking for his basket when mom would beg him to look harder for it. Stubborn little boogar.)
