WHY?? Why do my kids at this age think it's awesome to dump all the books off the shelves? No matter how many times I tell them NO! and make them grudgingly help put the the books back on and I think they've finally learned their lesson. Nope, inevitably they do it again. Grrrrr....
I know, right? Jess used to have a bunch of plastic bins full of stuff like Legos, Littlest Petshop doodads, and crayons. She'd go in her room to "play" and empty all of them on the floor, so I'd have to spend an hour picking through the mess and sorting them all. After a few times, I finally learned my lesson and put them on the top shelf of her closet so she had to ask me for one bin at a time. Of course, after a few weeks she forgot they were even there, so they just collected dust until I eventually gave them away. I don't know if it is better to have toys that they use and make a mess of, or toys they never touch. I sort of hate toys.
