Today Jeff and I took the kids to BYU to show them the campus and sufficiently talk them into going there someday.  We first visited my dad at his office.  This may be the last time we do this as he's retiring this fall.  He talked a bit about the work he has done over the years and I think it is the most I have ever really known about what he has done at BYU all these years.  Really I think he's just been modest because he's accomplished some pretty amazing things.
I made the kids walk to the far end of campus so we could see the Maeser building and statue of Karl G. Maeser, my fourth great-grandfather, founder of BYU.  The kids thought it was pretty cool that they are also related to him.
Following lunch, we headed to the bookstore to get the kids BYU t-shirts.  Unfortunately for us, they were out of all our kids' sizes.  Fortunately for the kids, we came home with these:

The kids spent the afternoon scrimaging and making up cheers.

This evening we had a barbeque with Justin, Jami, Jenny, and families.

Bailey discovered that sand is not delicious...
And how to go down the slide all by herself...

Erik caught a bad bounce on the trampoline and hit his head on the frame.  Jeff said that if we'd been home, he would have put a staple in it.  But since we're not, he'll have to heal without it.

  1. Yay! You're back! Your UT pix are just the therapy I need today as I sit in my hotel room and feel sorry for myself. I seriously LOLed when I saw the one of Bailey at the bottom of the slide. My kids had to come see what I was laughing at. Thanks for brightening our morning!
