  People are always surprised to hear that the summertime temperatures in Amarillo are about the same as Utah. The only difference being that it's hotter earlier in the morning and later in the evening.  It would sure be nice to have cool evenings, when the kids could play outside comfortably. 
  We enjoyed one such cool evening tonight.  The kids played in the sandbox and the adults played games inside, in peace.  Lovely.

Clearly, Jami takes after my dad.
